I’ll watch the highlights at 7pm on Cooncil+.

Had a great day at Saltaire’s ground on Saturday watching a first XI Airedale and Wharfedale Senior Leagues match. Great facility in a public park, with even an electronic scoreboard which bears a plaque commemorating Jim Laker, no less, whose mesmerising spin was first put into action at Saltaire.

Bilton all out for 118 in 24 overs, Saltaire 120-4 off about 18. Scorching sunshine, good cricket, a mini-tantrum from the home no 3 given LBW, and a licensed café just along the boundary.

No admission charge, and the pandemic has halted the collection taken from spectators meantime, so I’ll bung them 20 quid as a small token of gratitude.

Salts CC has an even better facility about 200 yards away, which I discovered when strolling along the Liverpool-Leeds Canal towpath the following day.

    Proper Mannies’ cricket.

Definitely not proper mannies cricket, but well done on Scotland qualifying through their group stages in Oman for the T20 World Cup.

A bit gutted as I am over in Oman in a week’s time, but the finals are in UAE.

How is that being miserable? The nationality rules in cricket have always been ridiculous.

Yes but those "foreigners" know how to lose like Scots.

How can it be a surprise to anyone that Yorkshire were a racist cricket club?

I've always found Geoffrey Boycott to be a model of civility.
