I've always liked Robert, he used to talk a lot of sense on radio Derby and I thought he would make a good manager. He has over achieved at Burton and the blues with no money.
Most blues fans I know were panicking every time we sacked our manager, thinking we would want him.

There's no way they can sack him on footballing grounds, he's had next to nowt to spend and had his best players sold from above, and still has them sitting near the playoffs

How many times have we seen that? A change of ownership and the new owners think that their personal appointment will be better than what they have, tried it at Wolves and look where they are?
Still I guess the compo payment will soften the blow and he will soon get another job.

Doubt he'll be too downhearted. He's one of the good guys imo and didn't deserve this, but he'll get a decent pay off, a stress free Christmas and, because he's articulate and well respected, loads of TV work. Good luck to him...Birmingham's loss...

Well done to Birmingham though, they've managed to emulate Nottingham Forest's sacking of Odriscoll a few years back, when he had them 7th and only outside the playoffs by a point... years on their down the wrong end of the table and in massive debt.
This is why I get worried about MM, keeps sacking managers and we still end up in this league come season end.
