I was unfortunate enough to find myself in Langside Drive and Victoria Road about an hour ago as the Tartan Army was “on manoeuvres” towards a match at Hampden that I didn’t even know was happening.

The old gag was that a bag of fannies could be described as “clitoris allsorts”. I may just have chanced upon an alternative. Grown men in bri-nylon kilts and face paint FFS.

Why don’t Scotland play in their traditional colours?

Naismith... a coach for Scotland has ended my short flirtation with the Scotland national team.

I gave it up when, despite being the then Premier Division’s outstanding goalkeeper, our Theo Snelders never got the sniff of even a Scotland squad call-up.

The last time I attended a Scotland fixture at Hampden was v Greece in a Euro 96 qualifier in 1995. Such was the interest in “oor boys” back then that I travelled down and gave away our local SFA Goalgetters’ allocation of tickets (around a dozen) to a copper who said, “I doubt that I’ll be able to give them away. Nobody’s interested.”
