Football isn't an exact science, if it was every team would be the same and games would all finish 0-0, Mel bought mac back based on his last stint and thought it would work, if you don't try you'll never know, can't blame Mel for trying, is rowett the man for the job; who knows but if you don't try you'll never know. Neither had Rats beloved Clough jnr though at least Rowett has managed in league 1 and the championship which is more than Nige had before he was appointed.
All managerial appointments are a gamble, I expected Pearson to be a success, he had the track record, I wouldn't mind Pardew but Rowett if appointed needs to be set targets and timescales and then left to manage the football side of things. xx
