The last time we finished a campaign further away from a top-six spot was back in 2010-11.

That season, under manager Nigel Clough, the Rams ended up 19th in the table. They were seven points above the relegation zone and 26 away from the play-offs.

In the past three years Derby, have reached the play-offs twice, either side of finishing one point outside the top six in 2015.

In 2012-13, they were 10th- seven points away from a play-off place.

That was an improvement on 2011-12, when the Rams finished 12th - 11th points adrift of the top six.

Derby round off their 2016-17 campaign with a final home game against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday (3pm) and a trip to Rotherham United on Sunday, May 7th (12pm).

They could still finish as high as eighth - or as low as 14th - depending on results.

How Derby Are In Danger Of Suffering Their Worst Season In Six Seasons:

• 2016-17: 10th - 13pts outside top six (with two games left)
• 2015-16: 5th - reached the play-offs
• 2014-15: 8th - 1pt outside top six
• 2013-14: 3rd - reached the play-offs
• 2012-13: 10th - 7pts outside top six
• 2011-12: 12th - 11pts outside top six
• 2010-11: 19th - 26pts outside top six

Overall goes to show what we already know, how very inconsistent our club is.
