    The Church of England

This church has apologised having misjudged Maggie Thatcher. As with socialism in general, it isnt about intelligence, its to do with being grown up, or maturity.

Just look at Corbyn, a grown up, but with the mind set of a stupid and rebellious child. With no hope of moving on.

Curious that anyone with a functioning mind would give any religious organisation any weight to any of its opinions.

    As Bertrand Russell put it:
It is possible that mankind is on the threshold of a golden age; but, if so, it will be necessary first to slay the dragon that guards the door, and this dragon is religion.

Oh Cambusman. Religion is not at fault. If we followed its teachings, the world would be a better place. Russell obviously had not thought deeply enough about it. Does it not say somewhere"though shall not kill".
The fault is with man. Isnt it.
By the way, you keep quoting, your thunks would be welcome sometime.

Oh, blaming religion for wars is a kop out, its ALL politics, and power. Rickie Lee Jones.

I see your point: One of the principle mathematicians and philosophers of the 20th century hasnt thought it through in comparison to yourself

The ego of those trapped by religion is insatiable.

Religion is a lie which suppresses critical thinking in favour of blind faith. It fulfills a longing in humankind to believe we are so important that life cannot possible stop at mere death. No, the human ego (exemplified in your post above) is such that we simply defy death by living on. Man even made God in his own image such is his ego.

Religion has been around a long time but thankfully, through education and freedom of though, it is slowly being eradicated in the first world. Sadly it continues to grow in the more vulnerable and poorer parts of the world but once they catch up I am sure they they too will see the light.

    COME ON ENGLAND!

Unlike you i am not fazed by so called intellectuals. I do not accept what they say automatically. Religion is not a lie. It has been corrupted by those who run it. Look at the Catholic church, it is a business, that protects *****s. Islam kills people. If you do not believe in your spiritual side, then i feel sorry for you. There is mountains of science that supports a creator. Best of luck with your beliefs.

Youre the only poster on here who's ever tried attempts to tell me what I think or who has ever called me a derogatory name. Sure signs of being fazed. And your the only one who goes on aboot religion. Coincidence?

I'm certainly not fazed by intellectuals, Nor do I presume to know better. I listen to people, including you, and keep an open mind. I recommend you try it.

I wish I did believe in God as I think life is far harder without faith:

No comforting afterlife to look forward to
No all seeing all knowing loving God looking after you
No one to pray to for help, having to take responsibility for your actions
Having to think about what is right and wrong, not blindly accepting rules and values from somoene else
Doing things because they ARE right and moral, because you want to be am ethical person, and not just to get a ticket to heaven

Hell is interesting. I lke how your forgiving loving merciful good believes in eternal punishment. Haha

I don't do nice things to get a tkt into heaven,If I did that then God would know and I would be judged on other things,I'm not even sure that there is a hell to go to,I don't think that its actually mentioned in the bible but heaven is and I'm not sure that I'm getting in there
You are better off not believing in God,its caused me a lot of heartache and pain in the past, if I didn't believe in God I would probably have spent living my life the way that I have but with more free time on a Sunday tbf
