    Kev Beckett

We are devastated to learn about the passing of Kev Beckett.

A son, father, brother, uncle, friend, colleague and exceedingly valued supporter of the Club, Kev was held in the highest of regards by everybody who came into contact with him.

Kev was the joint owner of principal shirt sponsors, C K Beckett. We fully understand that everyone connected with the town of Barnsley will be shocked and saddened by the news about the loss of a valued member of the local community.

The family have requested to have their privacy respected during this tough period.

Club Custodian Patrick Cryne wanted to pay immediate tribute to Kev.

“Kev was a true fan of the Reds win or lose. He was astute as an adviser and warm and friendly in social settings. He will be sincerely missed by all at Oakwell.”

I never knew Kev or his brother Chris of course but this is a shame to hear this news. Here they are in this video from 2 years ago.
Listening to them talk here it sounds like they were always proud of where they came from, and were happy to help out the local footy teams with cash donations. RIP to Kevin Beckett.
