Next up - Rangers for lunch

Motherwell will host Rangers as the league season gets underway at Fir Park on Sunday lunchtime. After four friendlies and four Betfred Cup preliminaries Stephen Robinson should be confident that his team will be ready for the test. - External Link

Hopefully I'm wrong but I can't see past the standard 2-0 Rangers win here, I just can't see us scoring and I think they'll have just a bit too much. The best result we can hope for is a 0-0 draw.

Ah the LSM pessimism ....howzabout a wee bit of hope! The team usually get criticised for being 'beaten' before they walk onto the pitch....things may be different under SR. We have a crop of players with something to prove so who knows ...lets get behind them and think positively for a change!

In fairness to SR, it's extremely refreshing to hear his pre-match comments about how he's focused on us and getting a result and he's not interested in the whole "Rangers this, Rangers that" from the media. It makes such a change from McGhee and McCall talking them up as favourites and basically writing our chances off unless they have an off day.

I just can't see us winning today I'm afraid as I just don't see where the goals will come from, although we may be able to scrape a 0-0 draw but that'll be our lot.

I agree. Moult is nowhere near match fit and none of our other strikers have impressed.

Indeed, I can't see anything other than "Motherwell 0" starting the scoreline unless Rangers absolutely chuck one in for us. That's not impossible though so on a good day we could get something...I'd be delighted with a point as well.
