I don’t think he ever tried to be anything else, the English gent through and through.

He was in a higland regiment though, and I believe, the SAS during the war.

I think that was all debunked as well. I'm sure it's the Moon's a Balloon where he claimed he was from Kirriemuir.

Sportsound podcast with my childhood hero, Eoin Jess. Turned down Rangers as a youngster, gave Gazza some cheek, chose Coventry over Sampdoria just to get Aberdeen a fee. If only we had him in the no10 position going into this season...

DM wouldn't play him as he wouldn't track back enough.

I listened to it this morning and wondered at what point they were going to start talking to him about anything other than Rangers. "Eoin, tell us about your time at Rangers on an s form, you made your name against Rangers in the '89 cup final, what about '91, what was it like playing against Gazza" etc etc etc. Sadly typical of our weegie-centric media and a missed opportunity to hear the AFC related musings of one of our finest.

Danny Rogers letting one in from 35 yards that I’d have saved.
Showing exactly why he was never good enough for Aberdeen.

And yet he would still have been a better choice than Clangers.
