I know as an England fan that they will let me/us down everytime, but they are still my/our national side and I support them like I support my club.
We should beat the Slovak's tonight and that will just about win us the this group.
I don't know why it was so poor against Malta but think of when your club plays a horrible talentless team who's sole intention is to kick and foul and try to keep the score down etc.
Greetings Acido - more said in jest! That said, I can't get into England until the Finals ( World Cup or Euros ) and all these breaks irritate me. Livermore was the best player against Malta and he's average.

I still say - players should play for the country for free and wear the shirts with pride. But players are happy to take further huge wages and no funds from the FA ( or very little ) goes to grass roots. Park pitches are a disgrace in this country so no wonder we are so far behind when kids lack basic facilities. Good luck to Barnsley especially on Sat 16th when all our boys will be willing you on........

Well it annoys me Al to see Jordan Henderson constantly getting picked for England, and although I was a fan of Raheem Sterling to begin with (or I tried to be a fan of his), he is getting worse now and not better.
Is Gareth Southgate the right man for a start, yes of course he ticks all the relevant boxes that the stuffed suits at the FA are looking for, but bear in mind he was a blatant 2nd choice to begin with. In fact he wasn't even a choice at all to begin with when the likes of fat Sam had the job!!.
Seeing as we're back in the Champship again, we're also part of the irritating Intl-Club breaks and I agree they are annoying and surely they are pointless. Remember when all clubs played a double header of matches on Satdy & Monday, on the traditional August bank holiday weekend.

They do play for free I think Al. It was my understanding that they donate their money/wages to charity.

I was informed Whicka they are paid and pool appearance/prize money and it's up to the individual if they give anything to charity - I could be wrong. On their already huge salaries and what should be pride playing for England - it should be free! Even appearing for England should raise player profile when with clubs - look no further than Livermore, who will have seen his figure ( on his head ) increase because of England, and in my eyes, he's average at best.

If players don't get paid and national matches cost a fortune, and very little goes to grass roots - where does the money go?
