The Fall of the Roman Empire and the gaping holes in Londons Arsenal.

and the gaping holes in the capitals Arsenal.

Is it terminal decline for these two powerhouses

I know Abramovich's Chelsea were champions last year and still have some real quality but there is something amiss. Apart from the buzz effect caused by Antonio Conte last season there seems to be something wrong.
Players not wanting to go there, disciplinary issues, unrest in the ranks. Might be a bit soon to write them off but something feels corrosive.

As for Arsenal - they are surely a busted flush.

Arsenal are an utter shambles. If people can criticise the Burnley board for their decision making what do they think about the decision of the Arsenal board to offer another 2 year contract to Wenger?

Agree things are not well with Conte talking himself out of a four contract and Romans divorce, and our win whilst aresene did win the cup but seems isolated and the club unable to function.

Top players (or supposedly top players) seeming unwilling to join, resign at both clubs.
    Players going to to rivals.
Contracts running down to zero profit.

I am sure both have got the might to turn it around but hell they appear to be taking some hits.

Time for new Northern royalty to do a bit of emerging.
