One of the oldest tricks in journalism is to be controversial as it creates a reaction. Sutton amongst many others make their journalistic career by doing so. What is scary is that I don't think that is what Boyd was doing. I think he is just genuinely that stupid.

Rangers folded in 2012. A group of businessmen lead by Charles Green then bought the left over body parts.

They used those body parts to form a new club. That new club decided that they were entitled to start life in the SPL because a space (known as 'Club 12') that Rangers once occupied was now vacant (consideration was also given to Dunfermline and Dundee to have this space too).

The new club applied to the SPL, this was rejected by the SPL Board. Dundee were eventually given the space left by the now defunct Rangers. The new club then applied to the SFL and were granted entry to the bottom league.

Rangers were not relegated, demoted or sent down. They did not drop leagues or anything similar. Rangers folded.
A simple yet brilliant post, one of the very best i have ever read,FACT.

Great shout putting this up Stoke. PTBAB

Spine tingling watching a proper football team, seems light years away.

Half a dozen magnificent players in that team and the rest not bad either.

Take away their talent though and what stood out is the passion and desire they show - tenacious tackling, desire to block shots etc. Night and day to what we have today.

If the. Urgent team showed the same levels of work rate and desire there would be a lot less complaints on here.

As for Boyd? A small minded wee clown...

In actual fact , we had our second most successful period in our Club's history in the period before (when the vultures were circling, remember them wanting to buy Goodie on HP! ☺)and after. 3 national cup finals with one win, few semis, top6 finishes every season and euro qualification. Plus increased attendances year on year. Seriously, what planet do these Muppets live on?

The one truth is this - they individually chose as a Club to spend money they didn't have and went bust because of it. Period.
