Another good MP..
I'm sure as wrong as many situations are in our Country, the African country which Ali came from is a more or less lawless one where he said he fears for his life.
I don't know if England was his first port of call, as Whitty correctly states that asylum seekers are supposed to apply in the first country they land in and many don't, they lie, beg, steal and borrow to get to our so called green promised land.
It's England, its classed as a civilised first class Country, even though we seem (when it suits us) to have draconian laws and long winded time consuming red tape.
I'm pleased this Ali got sent home, as it means he probably wasn't legal, I might sound hard nosed 59 but believe me I'm not, and your quote of "I really hope that if I, or a member of my family, ended up in a situation like Ali, that we would be treated with more humanity" is besides the point as it would not happen if we was legal and above board.
Another good MP..
Aye alf --and we won't even start with those in the other House!
Although I'm not a refugee I still have to register at the local P.S.B, in Sanmenxia, China, prove that I am employed and travel to Hong Kong every 90 days to renew my visa.
"Turfmoorspirit, please explain to me have you have arrived at the decision that he deserved it because he was "careless"?
I fully agree with that comment.
I suggest that just because you wish to live in a different country and that if you want contribute to the community that everyone has a right to do so. How many English people live in other countries ?
I have no issues with anyone who wants to live in the UK , apart from people who wish us harm and groom/rape our children for the reason of taking over the world. Even a blind man on a galloping horse can see it. They will always be defended by the left and as a result are able to carry on with their mission to take over our weak country. We need somebody like Trump who has balls and knows what coffee smells like.
So, Mr. Trump is your role model for freedom and democracy ? I may be mistaken but has he not sanctioned and supported wars against, amongst others, recently, Syria....what gives him the right to interfere with other countries other than than America ?
In my opinion he his not suitable to be President of any country, he is a business orientated bigot.
What is re-assuring about that piece is that it appears we are still capable of sending back illegal immigrants to their country of origin. The system is not quite as dysfunctional as I thought then, thank god for that.
A couple of weeks ago I was driving down one of Bolton's major roads and two Border Control/Immigration vans were arresting a couple of dark chaps at an address on the main road.
For all the world it reminded me of the images I saw in the Nurnberg Documentation Museum of the Nazi Brown shirts rounding up a couple of Jews in Wurzburg. It unsettles me, I am uneasy about it.
Whatever happened to our primal concept of being a Christian nation? Are State boundaries so bloody important? Can we not extend a helping hand to those that really need it or are they simply taking the p-i-s-s out of us?
Alto's approval and description of Immigration holding centres that are reminiscent of the UK's Category "B" prisons are not filling me with much Christmas joy either.
