Riding our luck at the moment...as much of a case for Carson to have been man of the match as Nugent imo.
Could easily have finished 6-3 or even gone horribly wrong had Millwall taken a couple of early chances.
Still we took our chances - well some of them - they didn’t take theirs’ and we climb to within touching distance of an automatic promotion place. Who’d a thought it just a few weeks ago?
Thats Derby all over, Forest game scored a goal and hung on - 25 to 30 mins of excellent play then we seem to go intoour shells, but I'm not complaining!

How many chances did Villa actually create? Two shots on target. Both straight at Carson and were easy pickings for him. Millwall created more chances than Villa but still only had 3 shots on target. Carson was more than equal to all 3, is that luck? Is it luck that they keep playing Morrison as their striker when he has failed to score all season? Leeds away. Norwich away. In both games we had little possession and many would view that as the oppo playing better. But did they? I was (one of?) the first to urge caution when we had that 9 game unbeaten run as we hadn't played well in most of them....... However, there comes a point when you realise that when one of your tactics isn't possession for possession's sake, you can afford to give the oppo the lion's share IF, and only if, you are very well organised and don't allow them to turn that possession into chances/goals.

At what point does luck become very good play? All the near chances like the Millwall one on 15 minutes...... they ripped us apart and the final ball was just far enough away from their player to have him unable to play it the way he wanted. Stretching, he could only manage to push the ball away from the goal rather than shoot. He didn't have it under control and that gave our defence the time to get back and cover. Better sides have higher %'s of passes getting to where they are needed. Better, hungrier sides never say die. Witness the BJ run and cross for Nuge's 2nd.....

Millwall huffed and puffed bit that was where it ended. Teams are finding it very difficult to blow our house down. Luck? I don't think so. Unless it is luck that we are doing the things that they aren't/can't......

Some will disagree with that last bit which is, after all, mere opinion. Luckily, we can now have a difference of opinion on here without getting blocked

Everyone is going on about their early chance, but I thought that there was a foul in the build up and nobody has mentioned Ledley's glaring miss beforehand.

MadAmster. If a manager says we were lucky today what do you think has happened for him to say that
