Pope or Heaton - Heaton or Pope ?

    .

both being top-drawer keepers - I can't see either of them twiddling their thumbs on the Burnley bench - what a waste of talent that would be.....and as am sure there'll be plenty banging at the door to whisk them off - I think it's unavoidable that one of them will go.
    But which one ?

I think we over think this.

Pope is a very good goalkeeper--no doubt.

But he is not the best playing in England.

Remeber Heaton attained England football team status--with our goalkeeping coaching-- how would that mean Pope would do better away from Burnley?

Pope going to another club doesn't make him a better goalkeeper or give him a better challenge to Heaton.

Wait your turn Pope and put your hand up in a few years.

And do that with Burnley--don't be seduced by the lure of other clubs that won't do anything for your career.

Stay loyal and watch it happen.

    We are an EPL outfit.

Two top class goalkeepers in the squad is an absolute necessity.

SD promotes an ethos of "Squad Mentality", all for one and one for all!

We need both of them and we should count our blessings that we have two international quality goalkeepers on our books.

Conor Mitchell is also benefitting enormously from working with Billy Mercer, Tom Heaton and Nick Pope in much the same way Pope learned from Paul Robinson.

Let's not start fanning discontent in our squad please guys?

.....great - if we can keep both - but unlike other players - Nš2 keepers may not see any game time all season long - that can't be easy - so deserve big time remuneration for all that suffering in silence....imho.

    Premier League....the number 2 keepers.
