West Brom. Until recently, a very well run, locally owned club.

Now, owned by some Chinese “consortium”.

Same old story - and a cautionary tale for “ambitious” supporters of all medium sized/small clubs everywhere (including SUFC).

Let's hope Pardew does a Curbishley and falls off the edge of the earth.

Charlton got ideas above their station and sacked him, WBA were safe under Pulis and look at them now.

I well recall the Charlton fans, when they were safely top 10 PL each season, supporting Curbishley leaving the club with the words "He's taken us as far as he can..." Yes, as far as anyone ever could.

There a long, long way from that exalted position now and their ownwers are doing a great job of keeping them where they are.Isn't the new Chief Exec or whatever at the sty an ex CAFC supremo, detested by the fans?

Football is a weird business isn't it? Chasing sporting success is largely fruitless for most, and yet otherwise wealthy and successful people chuck their money down the gulley, all for that one day when they have a piece of silverware in their hands, then default on the VAT. Maybe they should have an off-shoot of Gamblers Anonymous called Football Chairman anonymous.

Back to Chancer at the bucket...so he's paid £32m for the bag of rags, stuck another £30m in, and is losing half a million a month. The family is supposed to be worth £700m. How long before Daddy takes him to one side and has 'the chat' with him, I wonder, and who do they sell it to?

They were lucky they got a couple of decent results earlier in the season.
Results that they probably wouldn't get if they had to play those games again

    1-1 Draw at Cardiff
    1-0 Win at Fulham
    2-1 Win over Brentford
    3-0 Win over Leeds
    2-1 Win at Villa
