With his injury record, I wouldnt start him against Bradford

I'd be more inclined to start him and take him off for the final half-hour, if we're in a position to do so.
I assume he will be assessed by the medical/technical staff as soon as he reaches the ground.

We need him for that one. Do we really need to rush him back, it's a pretty average Bradford side.
We have options. We can easily go 3 at the back, play Bennett & Bell as wing backs.
Personally I'd keep it simple. Just play Downing instead.

We needn't have worried, Champs. It was always going to be up to the relevant Blackburn staff to make the call, and they obviously decided to be cautious - especially as he'd missed the training-patterns this week.
