Pleased to see some spirit and commitment...

For most of the game we looked as if we wanted to win and the majority of players showed put a decent shift in. Brunty impressed in an unusual central midfield role.
Unfortunately McClean again showed little other than his fighting (!) spirit.
Livermore disappointed as did Philips, who was a passenger for the last 30 minutes. Is it a fitness issue ?
Very strange substitution...was JayRod injured I wonder ? In any event, surely Leko might have offered some attacking options ?
I was pleased to see the fans’ response to Big Dave, but his reluctance to take Philips off was a disappointment and indicates an unfortunate desire to ‘keep with the big names’. (As confirmed also bringing Grego on??)
    Any road, some positives.

Brunt usually plays poorer when central but was much better yesterday, apart from gifting them the goal, and that was awful play by anybody's standard.
I was pleased when I saw the bench, as usual upset to see McClean getting a start, but by the end disappointed by Moore's decisions. Burke should have replaced one of the wide men (McClean) on the hour mark and Leko not Greg should have replaced Rodriguez. Greg should have started ahead of Livermore as well. Much better player than Jake. He was stifled under Pulis but improved under Pardew.
It doesn't much matter but it would be nice to end the season with a flourish.

Timid tactics from Big Dave for me. Nothing to lose but same old faces. Only positive was that the attitude and spirit appeared better.

    I completely agree.

A cowardly team selection devoid of any inspirational or forward thinking.

I’ve said before on here,Darren seems like a truly nice man but not the sharpest tool in the box.....a ponderous speaker with not much of any use to say in the few times I’ve seen him interviewed on TV.

A good solid character to have around the club to carry the drinks and bibs but manager......give me a break!!

An opportunity missed. I felt sure some youngsters would have been given a crack.
