    there were other players to stop the ball after mattock for the first goal, and vyner's poor positioning and lack of tracking back (along with taylor) gave Irvine a free role to attack. If the vyner or taylor tracks the run of Irvine then he shouldn't get a shot in.

    If we play with 1 up front, then there is no point player long ball if there is no one to run on to smiths knock downs.
    With the 3 cm, it looked like we have two sitting back and one forwards (although it was hard to tell as neither of them knew what they were doing). Your better just having 1 holding midfielder and two pushing forward to help support smith and put pressure on the opponent.

    My thoughts are basically not printable.

    But I'm sure the thoughts of opposing managers are " don't worry if you let in an early goal or two they routinely let in more"
