It wasn't a nice experience. The non fans split it for the ones who'd gone all over the country in the 3rd tier and supported us at places like MK Dons and Peterborough. I remember you saying at the time mate. Not good.

It was one of those 5:30 kick offs. People has been sat in the sun drinking all day. Always a bad recipe for a football match

I can't stand pissed to ****ers at football matches!!
I know lads who I work with who go to watch Leeds. One was saying him and his mates are that pissed before games they can barley see. And once in the ground they sit in the concourse drinking! And watch the game on the tv's. They don't even go in the stand??!! Mental.

I like to sit and take it all in, and watch the actual game.

That's exactly it. Atmosphere is one thing, but treating the game as if it's secondary is another.
I am still amazed at the way people at important rugby-matches here get up and go for chips at crucial moments in the game.
I'm at the opposite extreme: I don't like to miss an over in a five-day test-match! Luckily, I've been "trained" to be more rational over the years.
I suspect that if I had never married, I would have become one of those people who is obsessed by details and routines. I would probably have been fanatical about some weird hobby.
