Teams like us are trapped in a viscous circle. We can maybe unearth a gem of a player from time to time which would help us to progress but we just can't compete to keep hold of them thus the squad ends up being rebuilt every season and rebuilding means you get inconsistency and needs time to gel.
The only way us and teams on the lower scale budgets can ever lay foundations for the next level is a freak season like Livi had and Ayr are currently doing.
