It wasn’t that long ago when we were in debt the Stewart Milne apologists were saying he is keeping the bank from calling in the debt.

If the bank did call in the debt would he have paid it?

I highly doubt he would have.

The moment the Donald’s paid off our debt was the moment he should have stepped down.

I see your point. Not sure there is a lot of logic there though. You doubt it but, just like me, you don't actually know one way or the other.

I don't know if I like him, but I am not sure I don't. I would suspect that, like the rest of the directors, he puts some money into the club on a pretty regular basis.

Let's be honest here. You probably put 2 - 5% of your income into the club each year. Why would you expect that to be much different for the directors? I know they call it investment when people give the club money, but an investment is where the money comes back with interest. I do not have access to that kind of financial information for the club, but I would think it is rare, at best, for anyone to recoup their investment there.

You surely cannot expect a chairman to come to a club a wealthy man, and then spunk all his cash on the club and leave. That's not a very realistic idea of the world. Rich people don't become rich by doing that kind of thing, and if someone asked you to do that, you would laugh and walk away I expect. I know I would.

This is kind of ironic really, because I am defending the actions of a man I am not sure I like. For me the jury is out on his time as chairman and I will judge it by the outcome of the new stadium project and on whether or not his stated ambitions for the club come to fruition. Anyway that's my tuppence worth on the subject.

So fire away at me, but it'll need to be a f*cking good shot, cause I am on the other side of the Atlantic these days.

I guess he is under no obligation to put his money into club but if he is going to try to get everyone else to put their money into the club rather than his own we would be better off with a chairman who is more popular than that dour neep.

I appreciate the fact that him and McCormack have managed to get investment from America but I’m sure we could get a lot more local investment if Milne wasn’t the chairman, most people in Aberdeen think he is a prick.

Rich people seldom actually use their own money.

I’d be far happier if we had nothing to do with yankland at all

Well all of these yanks including Dave McCormack have used their money to fund the new training ground and they are all rich.

The real question is why did Stewarty not manage to get rich people to pay for maintaining Pittodrie years ago?

My guess would be he didn’t want to for some reason.

I'm not particularly against a new training ground but there's not much wrong with just sending them up the broad hill a few times if they lose.

    Stuff the yankee dollar.

I have no problem with us building a training ground either.

The point is why has it taken Milne so long to get people to invest into a training ground and a new stadium.

I know why he has had to get yanks to invest because everyone knows what he is like here and won’t give him money when he has plenty of cash do it himself.

He could easily have tried to get yanks to invest in a training ground and maintaining Pittodrie years ago but his plan has always been to eventually move us away from Pittodrie.

Because they are directors. That's the difference.
