Always like him as a player, never the same after he was called up for Scotland but didn't get a game. I recall his form dipped after that, probably not connected but there was some ****e ahead of him and it might have knocked his confidence. Then it was injury after injury.

Surely he was one of our higher earners so while sad to see him go, glad that his wages will no longer go to waste as has gradually drifted out of picture.

Out of interest, does he fall into one of the Russ Richardson success scouting?
Typical signing who was proven up here and failed to make the grade down south so was brought back up north.

Was he not signed before Russ Richardson was appointed?

That's the kind of signing that doesn't need scouting or at least doesn't need scouting to make you aware of him. He'd not long been down there, wasn't getting a game and not because of injuries so whilst unimaginitive, a very high probability of success. Similar to the Stevie May signing but without the recent history of injuries and severe lack of game time over a couple of years.

It was seven years ago though. I Imagine the disparity in wages though significant back then, wasn't quite as large as it is now so I think we might struggle to make a similarly solid signing now. Greg Stewart would be comparable, but if that happens it'll likely be that no one else wants him.
