Initially, seeing it on my phone from the small picture, it looked like a red band all the way round, but with something under his right arm, a paper would be about right for this suggestion.

On zooming in though I can srey it's just the mears logo.
Which, as somebody else said, at least suits this one better, unlike a few of the recent ones that it's not matched at all

I do like it though, not the most imaginative but better than some have been

Are these possibly the worst two kits ever?

I’m glad you’ve said that Brin, I was about to book into opticians

1995-96, 1998-2000 and 2000-2002 all dreadful home shirts IMO.

Out of all those I like the 95-96 shirt. Reminds me of the days of Raggy and co....great times but like I say, a good looking shirt.

As a shirt it’s fabulously underwhelming

Having Smeg on the front instead of Mears would improve it.

It was funny in 2002 when our sponsor changed from One 2 One to T Mobile and everyone at the time said "Who the F are T Mobile?". Turns out they were the biggest sponsor every to appear on a RUFC shirt and if we could get them today we'd definitely be upping out pay structure to dry roasted maybe even with some wasabi flavouring.

Funny thing I noticed when looking at those kits, we had one that was worn once in 1968 v Plymouth. I suspect the kit man put the wrong socks out.

I like it. Simple, clean, understated. I reckon though, it'll become more of a 3rd kit. Lots of teams play in red and white, it'll clash quite often.

That's the signed one I have, when we came 15th in the First Division, signed by two of the current management team.

I need to get Barker to sign it as well in return for a tube of Trugel
