Players come and players go but they're simply (very well) paid employees able to sell their services wherever they choose, contractual obligations notwithstanding. Which begs the question why, when we're reputed to be financially astute, have we allowed so many contracts to run down and players to simply walk away. Players who wouldn't command huge fees but who, collectively, could be expected to yield a million pounds in the current market. Some things never change.
The upshot of relegation this time around is that with 12-15 players destined to leave, one way or another, we'll see how good Warne and co are at building a team. At least it's never uneventful being a Miller!
