Great to see new youngsters coming through again, Glass Banks Jones Appere Mochrie - apologies if I've missed anyone out.

“Declan’s at an age where he needs to play every week,” Courts told Courier Sport.

“Those fleeting appearances and moments are reserved for 18-year-olds and young players who are on the periphery."

“When you get to 20 or 21 you need to be playing regularly."

“If Declan was 18, we would have kept him."

“When a young player comes off the bench, the game is already open,” added Courts.

Some more from the article for those who can't see it.

“He is getting the opportunity to play every week at Kilmarnock and challenge for a title. We’ll get the benefit of that at the start of the season.

“We are putting Declan’s needs above ours at the moment but will get the fruits of that next season.

“He’s got a bright future with Dundee United.

And Courts has challenged him to become a ’90 minute player’ at Kilmarnock.

“When a young player comes off the bench, the game is already open,” added Courts.

“There is an opportunity for a talent like Declan to find a moment of brilliance.

“But the challenge for Declan is being able, when the game is tight, to commit to what the team needs before engineering himself back into it.

“He can then have the big moments as the game opens up.

“We can then get a more complete and rounded player. The only thing that has robbed Declan of that development until now is 14 months of injury.

“We need to make sure we do what’s right for his development and are excited to see where he can go in the future.”

    Boris out, Tam in.... (kiddin')
I think his injury has been forgotten about by some. If you watch the video , you can see how hard it was for him, even thinking he might never play again.

In saying that, we can argue/debate all day, but....... "if" he comes back fully fit and had a reasonably successful time there, we will be the benefactors . Fingers crossed, hope so.

My guess and its a total guess, i think if he does quite well the hope Killy will put a bid in for him, at 22 if we really rated him he would not be out on loan, which if he does really well we will take him back , but you never know but can't see it so far what i have seen..more hope killy buy him make bit money, we are the multi coloured swop shop..No fk idea what there game behind the scenes is.

Wait! Signing a guy a day before a match and only putting him on the bench. I thought only United were stupid enough to do that? Things you learn about football every day

Killie looked a far better team when he was introduced.

Yeah he controlled the game when he came on. Some result for the Smokies though.

What I did notice was that he was dropping a lot deeper than I remember him playing recently. He was constantly offering himself to the CHs, then picking it up and running with it toward the opposition, drawing players toward him to either dribble past or create space to pass forward into. Yes, forward! Not to one side, then the other, then the other way, then back again, then sideways again…………………………………………………….

His pass completion percentage must have been really high. Can't remember him misplacing one.

That said, he was getting far more time on the ball than he'd get in the Premiership.
