I know you've often said how difficult it is to get accurate stats at this level, but this BBC report on our game today shows just how inaccurate they can be. While their very basic match report isn't too far off the mark in my opinion, the formation they offer beggars belief! Apparently we played 4-4-2, with the following formation:

Slocombe (at least they got that right)
    Lacey - Ellis - Reeves - Barnett
    Rawlinson - Doyle - O'Brien - Wootton
    Boldewijn - Effiong

You could probably draw random balls out of a bag and get closer than that.

I've posted a few of these guesswork formation BBC graphics on the match threads recently. I suspect they are automated. If not they are guesses. Bad ones

Yep, it’s a blooming nightmare at times. All the stats I use now are mine except the xG data which I pay for. I could get other data like passes completed, tackles made etc but I don’t trust it enough to fork out yet another £200 ish a year. Really do need to get out of this league ASAP.

Cheers, the next one will be quite unique, a report and preview involving the same team.

From your charts it's interesting to see that last season was a bit of a slow burner with gradual progress to the position we are at now which is around 6th. Then we obviously went on the run and climbed to 3rd. This season we started the season off much better than last season and have consistently been in the playoffs throughout with a few peaks and troughs and have now leveled off to where we are now.

It will be interesting to see how it goes from here on in. I'm hoping that we can push on like we did last season and scrape a top three finish. It would be disappointing if we dropped out of the play-offs and for me that would mean failure. However I've confidence that hopefully the dust has settled a bit on Neal Ardley's departure and with each passing game we can grow in confidence and performances improve buoyed by the return of Cal Roberts and the introduction of Lewis Knight and Regan Griffiths contributions to the mix. Not forgetting Chicksen who if he performs how he did on Good Friday on a regular basis he will be like a new signing.

Lot's to be positive and hopeful about going into the 'business end' of the season.
