Just looking at those attendances, for where they are in the league, Eastleigh are getting decent figures - averaging 2218. The clubs around London do quite poorly apart from Woking - presumably because they have a more solid history as non-league teams go.

I couldn't find any historical figures for Wrexham but going by what they'd get against us in the EFL they appear to have near doubled what they would be expected to average since they dropped out of the 2nd tier in 1982.

If we forget last season due to covid and look at our first season in the NL we had the highest average of 5210 which is currently about 1600 less per game than we are averaging now. Same season Wrexham averaged 4057 pretty much exactly half of their average for this seas and they've had restricted gates as well. Hollywood eh?

On those numbers it was a very unlucky day for us... sometimes that happens. Unfortunately this league seems super competitive this season so a little bit of bad luck could keep us here.

So right. Can’t help feeling this team has been 3 years in the making and would have won this league at the first 2 attempts. will there be enough left of it to try again if we don’t make it?

Well on the other hand... a bit of good luck for a change and we just might wing it...

A bit late getting these done this week, had the week from hell. Anyhow, Bromley stats now up, still worth a look and this one is all stats and no chat . . .

So while it wasn't the luckiest match for us, we also didn't perform all that well. Dominated possession, but failed to turn it into goals.

We normally compete surprisingly well in aerial duels, but were considerably weaker in this department against Bromley. Also very rare that the opposition has a better xG, so plenty for IB to learn from this - especially as it was no surprise that Bromley are a big, physical bunch.

Their xG was helped a bit by having a goal scored literally on the goal line. That one attempt was worth over 50% of the 16 goal attempts we had, and we had our chances, Roberts shooting lamely when on a 1v1 with the keeper, Wootton scooping a cross over from 5 yards out and Sam could have been stronger with his header at the end having beaten his man at the near post.

If Cameron had kept goal side of his man from the corner that they scored from it's likely he could have done enough to put his man of at the very least and then that goal doesn't happen. Watching it back it's clear he knows it as well. Equally I think Taylor leaves his post which again would have provided further cover.
