"We were bad, they were bad, neither side deserved a point".
I listened to the game yesterday on radio cambs. It wasn't complimentary, the commentators said that Carlisle were there for the taking in the first half they were that bad. United of course, couldn't take advantage. The commentators couldnt have been more damning. They couldn't use the word s hit. Cambridge were just as bad in the second half.
Was it that bad? If united were involved, it must have been. I must admit to a stat mistake, I said on the United board that Cambridge had a shot at Exeter in midweek, apparently, that was in error. There was no shot on goal.
As there was not yesterday. So United have played 180 minutes of football without troubling the keeper. Can it possibly get any worse.? These people are paid about 60 grand a year, train full time, and cant get anything right.
You should be worried if you cant beat this shower.
The commentators really went to town on the emptiness of yesterdays game. They even had a go at a Carlisle player. Apparently he is being watched by Celtic, and mid way through the second half said that the scouts must be heading for the exit.
There was also banter about your next manager, and Sean Derry had applied. He lives in Kent though so its hard to imagine...but..... if he gets it...…… you are done.

I went, Frank, and I’ve rarely seen a worse exhibition of football. To call each side shit would be an insult to shit. Cambridge had the better first quarter of an hour but possession was wasted time after time. Then we had a good 10 minutes, put some good balls into the area but there was never anyone on the end of them. The rest of the game was pretty even, by which I mean evenly shit. We had a couple of chances, one saved well by the Plate keeper, the others hit or headed wide. I think your lot had one that went wide. Our keeper had sod all to do all afternoon.
We are a Club inextricably bound into a downward spiral. Luckily for us, others are in the same plight, it’s just a question of whose spiral is steepest.

199 went to the game yesterday. The mistake im making is that it isn't about results, following a club is a way of life, a part of them that isn't negotiable. I know someone who goes to every game by train, and stays over night when needed. He arranges work around it.
For me it is about winning. End of. By the way, one Man u player earns more than the Sheff u team. Carlisle or Cambridge have no chance. I don't think the public know it though. At our level, we should be semi pro.
The football certainly is.
