    They worried about Shankland.

.....but we have the best defensive record in the league.Yes it was all about how much Shankland was going to make the difference between us possibly going up or not, according to everyone else. Now I am not saying that Sir Lawrence's goals are not *****, but a bit of recognition for the defence is also in order IMO.

Two goals in six games for Shankland, yet were still strolling it. 😂

    Mind the gap.

Its been a tale of 2 quarters

First 9 about Shankland's goals while we conceded 12
Second 9 Shankland less prolific but our defence conceding only 2 goals

This is true but shows the improvement of the defence. It could be that we are defending from the front better, our midfield competing better but the back four have definitely got their act together. We did have guys played out of place early doors which didn't help but still a huge improvement. Shanklands goals at the first part of the season were crucial, as he's slowed down slightly the defence has got tighter. Very pleasing. 23pts from a possible 48 to win the league I believe.

Not meaning to be negative but in response to your final sentence a positive Funster may say,"We just need them to lose 7 in a row and us to win 7 in a row and the best squad in the Championship are a point clear."

Fair enough G, I'm only quoting what was mentioned on here a while back from the statos, that 72pts wins the league. I'm not saying it's won or even close to it, just the target amount to go for, one game at a time.
