Average attendances to date this season in League 1.

I didn't think Lincoln would have been higher than us? I get franchise as it's in the middle of nowhere in a plastic town.

Poor old Accy, just over 3000 but I love that club's mentality.

Lincoln have played 2 home games less than most of the others but have had home games via Ipswich, Peterborough and Oxford so far which I'm guessing would attract good gates

MK Dons are only up there because they attract really big away followings from the likes of Cov and Sunderland and Donny have had a few 3k plus away followings to them as well from us Lincoln and Sunderland.

I think Lincoln's season ticket sales were around 6,300 which probably explains lofty position.

Always think Lincoln have the potential of some good gates because they have no local rivals pinching their fans like we do. I can see them getting good gates if they get into the championship better than ours when we were there.

At the minute Lincoln are just about getting capacity crowds for most home games. You have to understand though, being in L1 is a crazy adventure for the bulk of their support. I think it's only their second season at this level in the last 40 years. They're riding a wave at the moment but the new fans will soon get bored of bottom half L1 football.

I know a new stadium is on the agenda for them as they looked at NYS for inspiration, but if they don't deliver it fairly soon, and if the team fail to kick on at this level, then that wave of optimism will disappear and they'll be back to reality with crowds of 3000 again.

The one that surprised me on that list is Blackpool. I forget the stay away protests are over, plus it's always a popular away day for pretty much everyone, which will boost their crowds.

I think we're doing OK with our crowds, by the end of the season our average should be closer to 10000 as we still have Donny, Sunderland, Ipswich and Portsmouth to come to NYS, who will all sell out or near enough. Plus a promotion push will bring a few more of our own out of the woodwork.

When I was growing up, an 8500 crowd was very rare and only happened if the away team brought a huge following. We've gained an extra 5000 regular fans since leaving Millmoor which I find incredible.
