China is wanting expansion, perhaps it see itself being the top dog in the world? It has threatened Taiwan? Or is that a big bluff?
Chinese fighter jets are flying into or near Taiwan's airspace.
But is the dispute on China's southern border more important? 'Disputed territory' with India? Plus I am not in China ,of course but does China look forward to its growing population, and can it feed its people in the future, with the land it has?
The whole northern plain, north of the Ganges, where there is agricultural land, that land alone could feed the whole of S. E Asia, with rice.
So in the future can China feed its self?
U.S. farmers are happy. They are exporting record volumes of products to China. Shipments of soybeans, corn and pork are bringing smiles back to the American heartland.
Or, to put this another way, Beijing is effectively acknowledging it cannot feed the Chinese people.
China's leader, Xi Jinping, recently made such an admission. Last August, he announced what became known as the "clean your plate" campaign to end what he called a "shocking and distressing" waste of food. Just about everyone saw this effort, to get the Chinese people to eat less, as a warning of food shortages to come. What happens when millions become hungry? Do their leaders sleep at night?
What is the point of fighting/attacking Taiwan? So maybe Taiwan is the 'Big Bluff.' In order to set up the scene ready to attack India.
Already roads have been built in the south towards Nepal! China would want to capture that northern plain in India, use the land to feed its people. When? It must happen but who knows when?
