Israeli researchers find existing drug eradicates coronavirus from lungs
Scientists from Hebrew University and Mount Sinai Medical Center say they worked out what makes the virus so dangerous to human lungs and how to diminish the virus' severity using widely-used anti-cholesterol medicine.

Israeli researchers from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem said they found how and existing drug, used for treating excessive fat in blood cells, could be effective in significantly reducing the severity of coronavirus.
Prof. Ya’acov Nahmias and Mount Sinai Medical Center’s Dr. Benjamin tenOever claimed in a new research that the FDA-approved drug called "Fenofibrate" (Tricor), normally used to treat high cholesterol, could make the effects of COVID-19 feel like a common cold or eradicate it from the lungs altogether.

The research, postulates the novel coronavirus needs an accumulation of fat inside lung cells in order to reproduce itself.
“By understanding how the SARS-CoV-2 controls our metabolism, we can wrestle back control from the virus and deprive it of the very resources it needs to survive,”

The findings of the study explain why high blood sugar and cholesterol levels, are highly dangerous factors for COVID-19 carriers, even without having diabetes.

Using different lung samples, the drug was able to eradicate the virus almost completely within five days of treatment, according to the research.

Scare tactics precisely BT, this from that Mirror piece, "Hospital admissions are said to remain stable region wide, however, with one official describing them as ‘really low across GM’."

Hospitals are quiet, fewer people are being admitted than usual, but this is regarded as a 'Major Incident'. Why ? We were told the whole point was to 'flatten the curve', ensure the NHS was not overwhelmed. The NHS hasn't even come close to being overwhelmed, the Nightingales were never needed, now GM hospital staff are twiddling their thumbs with little to do and they're talking about calling the Army in. You couldn't make it up.

Incidentally, the rate per thousand in Germany has to reach 50 before the government considers any extra measures might be required. Only Oldham of the 10 GM areas has gone slightly above 50, the other nine GM areas are at a level that would cause no concern in Germany. Just saying like.

It's also interesting that the % estimated to be infected in the North West was constant at 0.05% from June 15th to July 26th, while in London in the same period, it rose from 0.10% to 0.14% without any mention of locking down London. Work that one out.

Per 100,000 ? - so who's having these tests - where are they going for them....because with the numbers they keep throwing at us - we should be seeing queues miles long at these testing centres, wherever they are ? - so how are they figuring it - does a positive result for one...mean that they'll include anyone that had contact (been in the vicinity ) with the so-called infected person for say the previous 3/5 days....is that how they're doing this highly suspect number stretching ? - As for the test, as is known....it's inventor, back in the 80's, "Dr Kary Mullis"....made it quite plain that it (PCR Test) shouldn't (cannot) be used to detect for an infectious disease , I'd imagine he'd be very upset to learn that his test has been weaponized by a true Virus that'll gain a result regardless - about 30 odd cycles for a negative - and 40 odd cycles for a positive....it has loads of scope for the fiddle, but they knew that, didn't they !

Interesting question norder because I have not seen any testing places up in my area so it makes you wonder whether they test a few who they know are probably positive and then do multiplication to give a figure for so many out of 100,000.
I had heard that the main testing was being carried out by the violin sections of various well known orchestras because thay are expert fiddlers ------as a bass player I have not been approached!
