    Best central defensive partnership

A couple of the latest threads about who's best and worst to wear the blue jersey got me thinking. Who has been the best pairing in central defence for queens over the years.
There's been a few, both good and bad. Higgins and durnin were good, Thompson and aitken were excellent but for me the best had to be Parker and Hetherington. Kevin was exceptionally strong and took no prisoners and Parker was just sheer class.
    Anybody else got any thoughts

Been attending Palmerston since 1978. Hetherington and Parker are the best central defence partnership I have seen in that time . Kevin, if I remember, had left Ayr United after a serious injury and then joined his home town club Qos. Coventry man Parker had a long and distinguished career in England for clubs like Coventry City and Carlisle United before arriving for his swansong at Palmerston. He really was top class was Bobby Parker . I cant stress that enough.

Brian McKeown who had played his entire career at Airdrieonians alongside the young David Lilley were good together during the 1995/6 season.

Quite liked the partnership of big JT and Brian Reid - unlike nowadays not many goals lost from crosses into the the box when they played together in central defence.

Brian Reid was an excellent defender. He couldnt run - by the time he arrived here- but he was clever and because of his positioning was rarely caught out by pacier opponents. A monster in the air as well.

I never rated JT amongst my best Qos defenders. Yes, he was brave and would throw his body on the line but his passing was atrocious , often winning the ball and giving it back straight away. Having said that, I would bite your arm off for a young JT to be back in our present day defence.
