    O/T Best bands you have seen playing in Barnsley

    Late sixties at Civic Hall , Small faces including Stevie Marriot , Faces lead singer Rod Stewart , The Who , Lead singer Roger Daltry , and the best Drummer i've ever seen Keith Moon , also the Kinks , plus many more , we didn't do bad attracting these bands to Barnsley , they were probably streets ahead of today stuff , that's given these new bands have more regarding recordings to help them ,

    A remenba them SB , iffam not misteccun thad a flowud shirt on , wissum flared trarsers , frum Ken Ellises shop , ar wa moor Mesta Wayne , Ray Alan , levi sta prest ,and ivvry colour Ben Sherman shirt tha cud buy , some reyt bands abart then , not like nar ,
    a wunce got cort nicking Wayne Fontanas petrol cap rarnd back ov civic , a purrit back a fottnit later , they were playing at York St baths afoor wrestling startud

    Dave Dee. dozy. Beaky. Mick and Titch alongside the Bonzo Dog doo dah band and Chris Farlowe 27th March 1967 at Civic Hall. Saw Bill Haley and the Comets there aswell.

    A few more av remembered , Gerry & Pacemakers, Searchers, Manfred Mann , Edisons Lighthouse, , Marmalade, Leo Sayer , sadly no Beatles or Rolling Stones .
    Local backing bands included , Little Midge & the Zephrs/Bites, Dave Lincoln & the Senator's
