So do I. But I also consider the UK to be a sham created by an English force of occupation in its neighbouring three nations.

Even if Wales is quite happy with this set up it's clear that a huge number of Scots and Irish are not so for me it's time to peacefully negotiate the withdrawal from an institution that seems to have little benefit for either of those countries - a lot like your mate Boris' feelings over UK membership of the EU really.

Where is this force stationed? I've no seen any tanks roll Doon meh street.

Is it mythical? like the English parliment and the dab model club?

Huge amount of Scots are not....hmmm....despite the gerrymandering at the last "once in a generation" referendum are you suggesting we "ignore the settled will of the people" and just press on with a seperation of 3 manufactured nations (when it's really one) that share the same small island, the same currency, the same values and much much more and make the northern bit join with countries thousands of miles away with different a current currency, different culture, different land mass and different values?

Only commies, those under 25 and English hating see you Jimmy hat wearing whas like us eejits would vote for that.....around 45% would be my guess😎 maybe 49% if you reduce the voting age to 10.

Never met Boris and doubt I ever will, no really my cup of tea, far too centrist these days but he is guid at winning elections and referendums.

you've hit the nail on the head. The huge number of Scots who are unhappy with being part of Britain are outnumbered by a bigger number of Scots who think that being part of Britain is a much more sensible political settlement.

I think the SNP should change their policy and say that they want to see what happens to Britain once the arrangements for Brexit have been in place for 10 years. Stop all the grievance stuff, work with Boris and see if they might be able to really make a positive difference to our lives.

Let's see how Brexit plays out. Farming and fishing will be acid test for me. Buy our own food stuffs seems to me to be in tune with the way food miles are being used as a critical way to bring down carbon emissions. There's lots of good reasons for the Scots to wait and see.

I understand what you’re saying but when given the chance to leave Scotland voted to remain.

Interesting point you make and assume you mean Income Tax.

Here are Delotties figures for tax year 2019 /20

    The lower earner
    £15,000 salary
If you earn a salary of £15,000 in 2019/20 and have no other income, the personal allowance of £12,500 will be deducted and £2,500 will be taxable.
    If you are resident in Scotland, your income tax calculation will be as follows;
    Scottish starter rate - £2,049 at 19%= £389.31
    Scottish basic rate - £451 at 20% = £90.20
    Total tax = £479.51

This is a decrease of £130.49 compared to 2018/19 due to the increase in the personal allowance (decided by the UK government ) from £11,850 to £12,500 and an increase in the starter rate band.
If you earned the same sum of money but were not resident in Scotland the full £2,500 would be taxable at 20% ( UK basic rate) producing an income tax bill of £500. Therefore, you would pay £20.49 less as a resident of Scotland..............

    £33,000 salary

If you earn a salary of £33,000 in 2019/20 and have no other income, the personal allowance of £12,500 will be deducted and £20,500 will be taxable. If you are resident in Scotland your income tax will be as follows:
    Scottish starter rate - £2,049 at 19% = £389.31

    Scottish basic rate - £10,395 at 20% = £2,079
    Scottish intermediate rate - £8,056 at 21% = £1,691.76
    Tax total = £4,160.07
If you were resident elsewhere in the UK, the full £20,500 would be taxable at 20%, giving an income tax liability of £4,100. A Scottish resident would pay an additional £60.07 in income tax compared with living elsewhere in the UK.

For me in my position I think 33k is a good salary you are not well off but it’s about 8k higher the the Uk average.

if you are earning 33k per year you pay £5 per more in tax Scotland

For that 5 Scottish pounds extra the person would get
    Free prescriptions
    Free eye tests
Free personal care for there parents and grand parents
Free tuition fees for your kids
And of course you get to live and work in the best country in the world

Now I would say that the list above is worth a fiver a month but of course some would like to have that extra fiver - each to your own m8
The lads in my yacht club would like the numbers for £80k salaries please. Can you help, for a friend of course?

    We’re ‘ruled’ by no one.

Most of the important decisions that affect us are made in Edinburgh.

I thought the SNP was all about indepenDENSE but apparently they love inviting drag artists into primary schools as well.

    God help us.
