Charlton badly needed a win against Luton Town on Saturday and they were rewarded with a brace from Lyle Taylor, one of them a penalty after a clear-cut handball, and a nice late finishing goal from George Lapslie.

The game which was all square at the end of the first half, was not without its controversial moments when Luton had a 51st minute goal ruled out for offside. Still the diamond formation, a trade mark of Lee's, started to sparkle as the game wore on.

Charlton Goals: Taylor 34, 61 pen, Lapslie 88
Luton Goal: Cornick 36
