Simon Davey was sacked as The Reds boss after a 3-1 defeat to Reading at Oakwell in August 2009 left them with just 1 point from their opening 5 games of the season. With 138 games to his name, he remains the longest serving Reds boss since Danny Wilson (201*)

Barnsley's 7-0 defeat at Reading in 1979 has only been equalled in the modern era by their 7-0 defeat at Man Utd in 1997.
