    Interest in Williams

Apparently and I use that loosely as it comes from nixon,a MLS side is interested in signing derek Williams at the end of the season.
I would view this as a good move only if one of the loan defenders makes the step up or we find that bit of cash behind the sofa.
Going into next season with less at the back than what we have now is dangerous.

Great news. Next Mulgrew, then Bennett and Smallwood, and Samuel and Graham. They are adding nothing to us and are all weak links, the ones who play. We moved on past these sorts of players a while back.
Get shut of Williams and get Tosin back, or find another one.
We would be treading water for the next few years with players like Williams.

Even though I cannot disagree with what you said champs, any defenders we let go of now,we need to replace.
Thin on the ground is a understatement.

There is better out there. Certainly squad player wise. Even a few of the lads who are already with our academy could do a job. If we got Tosin back, then it would be a settled back 4, with nobody getting a game unless of injury or suspension. Realistically, we will be in the market to find a decent squad player.

My main issue with Williams is he simply is nowhere as good as Bell at LB. And gets easily bullied at CH. You can replace someone like that easily. Finding another Tosin, if he didnt return. That's a major problem.

We only get tosin back if we get promoted.
City will no doubt have a good look at him before loaning to a lower prem team.
We can hope one of the loaned academy kids steps up or strike lucky with another loan player.

I think we will get Tosin back actually. He is happy, playing well. And that might not be the case at a Prem club. There won't be many Prem clubs looking for a young untried CH. They will normally buy that kind of player on that position. Its normally experience that lower Prem sides are looking for when it comes to centre half. I think he will ne loaned out again to the Champ, and we will stand s very good chance. Great facilities, hes motivated, playing and we are close by to Manchester, so the lad hasn't had to move house or anything. And City are happy with his progression, who have their people not only watching games, but training aswell.
We may not get both him & Walton back next season, but I do think we will get one.

I hope you're right about Tosin, Champs, but it seems a tad optimistic to me.
You say he's happy with us, but what would his agent advise if there is PL interest?
I don't think players actually think that much for themselves!
I wouldn't get rid of Williams personally. We saw how difficult it was last summer to get a decent centre-half on a permanent basis, and I don't get the impression that Mowbray is convinced that any of our youngsters are ready.
It's a real shame that Magloire got injured, because he was clearly the one seen as closest to the 1st Team at the start of the season. The other issue with him is that he is only 6'0". That doesn't matter if the player is really athletic, but there do seem to be a lot of giants about nowadays!

    Off-topic.
Rovers 2-0 up against Arsenal in Youth Cup quarter-final.
The goals are on the live thread on the Telegraph.
Two crackers - including one from Ian Wright's grandson.
    (Now 3-0!)
    Make that four!

Watched the fame on you tube of all places and we looked a different class to arsenal.
Wright-Phillips looks rapid but it's a strange one, have you ever known a club loan a player from their academy to play in another?must be a deal done there.
I could see him playing first team football very soon.

I hope we keep this relationship with Man. City!
As for this lad, you're right - it's very odd on the surface.
All I can think of is that they have another young right-winger, and they want them both to get game-time.
On the other hand, perhaps they are happy for him to move on. We'll find out at the end of May.
