Japan declaring a state of emergency. They were a bit laid back about it originally.

    They have an ageing population

I wonder how much of that was due to wanting the Olympics to go ahead so refusing to do as others in Asia were doing

    Laid back about it?.
They're expected to declare a state of emergency with approx 4,500 confirmed cases (700 of which was the Diamond Princess).

We have over 10 times that amount and have not declared it as a state of emergency (as far as I can see)

Some experts think that is 7 - 10 days away. We'll see, but as long as there are extremely silly people out and about unnecessarily, then it will only prolong the issue in the UK.
Only then can we start to project when restrictions can be potentially lifted[/QUOTE]

When our main medical spokeswomen flouts this then there's not much hope.

    Agreed no defence.
Even the pictures showed she was not 2 meters away from another woman when out for her walk.
I'm all for leaders defending their team, but Sturgeon should have acted more decisively and taken her immediately off the front line in this situation

Interestingly it was a tiger and the other reported case was to a domestic cat in Belgium.

Got it first time, looks like Japan is acting more swiftly than the UK when comparing the two countries epidemiology timeline in their countries

I'm not comparing them to ourselves. Calm down.
