    O/T:- Cheltenham day 3

Had a bad Tuesday but backed Champ and Dame de Compagne yesterday in a double, where Champ came from God knows. Here are my selections for Thursday.

    1-30. Faugheen
    2-10. The Storyteller
    2-50. Frodon
    3-30. Paisley Park-- Penhill e/w
    4-10. Death Duty e/w
    4-50. Floressa-- Ard Abhain e/w
    5-30. Plan of Attack
    Best of luck.

And let's go for an outsider at big odds to shock them all and win

    Highway one o one
    Oldgrangewood
    Charmant

Oh and Sky Bet basically has free bet offer on Race 1. So if you have an account with them game advantage

    1:30 Faugheen
    2:10 Kilbricken Storm (e/w)
    2:50 Min
3:30 Penhill (e/w) - as sponsors Paddy Power are offering a free £5 bet on this race
    4:10 Springtown Lake (e/w)
    4:50 Concertista
    5:30 Go Another One (e/w)

Usual advice - search out the freebies, and if betting each way be sure to see who is offering what. Some will be offering a quarter rather than a fifth of the odds, some will pay 5 or 6 places. Picking the best offer can make the difference between winning and losing.

Winners yesterday at 9/4 and 5/1 led to another bit of profit, with a nice surprise of another free bet from Coral for Penhill under their 'free bet if your horse fails to finish offer' that I didn't know about until signing in this morning. I have taken advantage of 888Sports offer of open an account and place a £10 bet then get £40 in free bets, which means I will be in overall profit even if all selections today are losers.

    1:30 Aspire Tower
    2:10 Mohaayed (e/w)
    2:50 Thyme Hill
    3:30 Kemboy
    4:10 Shantou Flyer
    4:50 Capeland (e/w)
    5:30 Column Of Fire

Some healthy betting accounts guaranteed for Aintree, but it would be a very pleasant surprise if it went ahead.

As usual I'm not betting on all races just the ones I like the look of, my selections:

1:30 Goshen & Aspire Tower (Skybet free bet) both To Win
    2:10 Sir Valentine EW
4:10 Shantou flyer and Caid DuBerlais both EW
    4:50 Ballywood EW

All free bets thanks to Day 1's big success.

Will get on Gold Cup for kicks but don't like the look of it tbh

Couldn't agree with your last four words more, this is an event that never fails to deliver. For me today was one of those 'what you could have won' days. A complete blank on my selections on here, but a clear passage would have seen Thyme Hill go very close, and Column Of Fire looked very likely to win the final race when coming down at the last.

Funny you should mention Fakenham, because that's where I placed my £10 real money bet to qualify for the £40 in freebies I mentioned with the 888Sport new customer offer yesterday. I put it on the favourite at 10/11 (went off at 4/7) in a 5 runner class 4 claiming hurdle, which is about as far away from the blue bloods at Cheltenham as you can get! I only deposited £20 to open the account late last night, but it's now up to £69.10 due to the initial bet coming in and getting something on 2 of the 3 £10 free bets I've used:

    Placed
To win: Eclair De Beaufeu (E/W 1/5 1-2-3-4-5)
    Stake: £10.00 Free bet
    Odds: 13/10 (13/2)
    Payout:£6.50
    16:50 Cheltenham
    13 Mar 2020, 14:28:00
    Won
To win: Al Boum Photo (Winner)
    Stake: £10.00 Free bet
    Odds: 10/3
    Payout:£33.50
    15:30 Cheltenham
    13 Mar 2020, 14:22:33
    Lost
    To win: Ozzy Thomas (Winner)
    Stake: £10.00 Free bet
    Odds: 11/10
    17:10 Fakenham
    12 Mar 2020, 23:59:41
    Won
    To win: Swaffham Bulbeck (Winner)
    Stake: £10.00
    Odds: 10/11
    Payout:£19.10
    13:55 Fakenham

My final free £10 bet has gone on Coquelicot in the last at Kempton tomorrow.

It looks like the Midlands Grand national meeting at Uttoxeter will go ahead tomorrow, but Kelso on Monday will be 'behind closed doors'. It's hard to see Aintree going ahead, but at least we managed to enjoy another brilliant Cheltenham.

It's the best race festival in the world, but not the best single race.
