I wouldn't blame anybody who has to rely on food banks (and there are a great many) for being envious of those who don't, nor the ever increasing numbers of homeless envious of those who can stay indoors but choose to head for their 2nd home and gallivant about on the hills.

"Boris Johnson is being urged to sack his most senior adviser after it was reported that Dominic Cummings said of the government's deeply controversial herd immunity policy on the coronavirus: "If that means some pensioners die, too bad."
According to the article in today's Sunday Times, Cummings made the comments at the end of February before changing his mind on 12 March after he realised he had "helped set a course for catastrophe.""

Not surprised to see Cummings' name come up.

He recently employed (and took a long time to sack) somebody who had written in support of eugenics, so using pensioners as cannon fodder to keep the economy going to be expected. Freaks and weirdos indeed.

‘If that means some pensioners die, too bad’.

You’ve got to admit that’s impressive leadership.

Well he won't sack him .... he's a proven winning strategist and guaranteed the LW Socialist mob are out of power for a decade or more thank Christ. You're not a pensioner yet .... I am... and what will be will be. But full of doom and gloom ..never, this thing will pass and I'll be able to continue my search for a horny *65 year old* to spend my last few years with.

We were sold this idea that it was only very old people with underlying health issues that would be affected, but we're now seeing younger people being treated. We're overlooking the fact that an awful lot of people of all ages will require hospital treatment. If younger people are given priority, that means older people with NO underlying health issues will also die if the NHS becomes overrun.

Reports that recent studies have shown that this virus can hang in the air for up to three hours at a temperature of 22c. On hard surfaces, up to three days.

*******s. It's only by holding our leaders to account that they will be made to make the tough choices. Just look at Trump in USA. From hoax to national emergency in weeks because of the outcry. Boris from 'go to the pub' to shutdown for the same reason.
Keep them on their toes or you will be left to die to save the portfolios of the billionaires.

I don't see why we shouldn't talk about politics, it is a very important topic after all.

As long as people avoid the usual name calling (long shot I know) I can't see the problem.

Banjo - you started this thread didn't you? If you can express your opinion about the quality of leadership, why shouldn't others?

IMO, women get hornier as they pass 50, whilst I like to spend more time in the garden tinkering around and drinking ale as I get older.

The magic catalyst was the new pool, right next to the kitchen, and between the garden and a beer-stocked fridge!

In summer (from now until October) Miriam tops up the pool at midday, and by 2pm is lying naked in it with my beers in an ice-lined cooler bag.....I must have some kind of rare "intermittent Alzheimers" that manifests itself in Summer, because I keep forgetting about the gardening.....strange.
