    Macclesfield's six-point deduction

Been reduced from 10. Why though?

Presumably because the appeal panel took the view that the original penalty was wrong in principle or too harsh when taking account of the circumstances of the case.

    Again.

Macclesfield Town can confirm that notification has been received from the English Football League, which charges the Club with further regulation breaches - all of which are relating to the payment of salaries due at the end of March 2020.

The Club are deeply surprised by these charges, as the Arbitration Panel at our last hearing adjudicated the following after close examination of all the relevant evidence -

"...the Commission should make it clear that it does not consider MTFC's tardiness (yet again) to pay the players' renumeration for March on time necessarily requires a further charge. Given it's reasoning and conclusions as above, it would require strong persuasion to impose a yet further points deduction for any such breach..."

Macclesfield Town will understandably be appealing these charges vehemently and will provide a further update in due course.

The original penalty was 10 points. This wasn't actually reduced to 6. It was 10 points with 4 suspended (effectively 6).

Under appeal that penalty was reduced from 10 to 7,with 3 suspended.

They have now been given 7 points penalty (11 in all now) which is 4 new penalty for failing to fulfill a fixture and failing to pay players, plus the 3 previously suspended.

They are appealing again because the disciplinary committee had previously not given them penalties for the non-payment matter.
    Messy isn't it?
If league 2 are not relegating does it matter?

I was on the understanding one team will be relegated from League 2 , that's Stevenage at present.
If the extra points are deducted then Macclesfield Town run the risk of relegation.
Time the EFL made its mind up either way.
