What the hell is the point of the daily governmental briefings on Coronavirus? Just watching the one led by Michael Gove. All they do is tell us the same old stuff and then dodge any awkward questions put to them by the media.

Agree. There is no point in telling us owt unless there is some significant change one way or the other. Why not just put a screen up for a couple of mins showing rise in cases/ deaths etc the mathsy bit, we are capable of extracting our own info out of it without some grim faced reporter repeating what we already know. They can usuallytell us what we need to know in 5 mins then chuffin move on to summat else we really dont need a detailed analysis .

Yes there will sadly be some casualties undeniably because of this bug but most people will get thru this relatively unscathed. The news balance has to be right otherwise their is a danger some people will pushed to the edge or even over it.

I was reading an article this morning about the rise in mental health issues in children re the bug often brought about by parents who are having problems dealing with this themselves.

There is the on off switch Gm admittedly but some folks are morbidly attached to the news when it comes on at 10. Most people who don't have mental health issues would turn it off or watch summat else. If news was delivered in a more balanced way it wouldn't matter if they tuned in every night to it.

I think it's better to just watch it once or twice a day at a set time rather than be glued to news channels as that is depressing.
