Well done to everyone, especially great_fire for getting 4 and to wrinkly who got one of them, Peter Storey with only 4 clues although I'm still not sure how.
No 13 to follow although the number clue will no longer be in play, not that it matters though as nobody realised it was in the first place

Yep, thirded. Keep it up CAM, I'm almost getting how your mind works.
Spent more time on these than anything the last week and didnt even get close enough to offer up a guess.
I would love to put getting Peter Storey down to my brilliant deductive mind but that's unfortunately not the case.
I was a student in London when Arsenal beat Liverpool in the 1971 Cup final. That was a memorable final - Bob Wilson let in a very soft goal when Steve Highway beat him at his near post. Charlie George scored a great winner and his celebration, lying on his back, has been shown thousands of times on TV.
Peter Storey was, as always, a right dirty bar steward.
One of my acquaintances at that time was a psycho little scouser - a fanatic Liverpool fan. He went to that match and after drowning his sorrows (excessively) decided it would be a good idea to throw a housebrick through a bookies window which was displaying a life-size poster of Peter Storey.
So Storey was implanted into my memory and everytime his scumbag off the field activities made the news I paid attention.
So - hard case, dirty barsteward, someone Warney would not like. Storey's name was always going to be the first name to spring to mind.
Brilliant idea BTW Cam. A welcome diversion. I certainly never spotted the number thing - doh!

Well done to everyone, especially PerigordMiller for getting Brian Kidd with just 4 clues.
11 forwards and just 1 goalkeeper. All played a part in (and most scored in) memorable games against the Millers.
Onward to the 3rd team with maybe a new connection, or maybe none at all unless I can think of one.
Thanks, CAM, for running this excellent quiz. Although I've only won one round (and was seconds away from a second) I've really enjoyed digging around and getting the grey cells working. Keep it going if you can, though I appreciate there's must a lot of time and effort required to think up the clues
