That's sad, I liked Freddie, as good a full back as you'll ever see, if John Angus hadn't been around he'd have been our first team right back for years, in this day and age he'd have left Burnley and been playing for another PL club.

RIP Freddie, you never got the recognition you deserved.

    Aye, a feisty little bugger.

He was never disadvantaged by being so short and he always put a full shift in.

If they have a football league up there then we must be doing bloody well.

    RIP Freddie.

Nah then Sub, when he finished playing he settled in Burnley, if he'd been a true Geordie he'd have gone back up to the frozen north east wouldn't he..............surely ?

Not really sinkov. As you know many of them settled in the Burnley area for one reason or another, probably because they were more appreciated down there than they ever had been up here ---as far as football was concerned.
Many married local girls too and that would be another reason.
Freddie used to visit his sister up here, she was the stewardess at the local miners' welfare where I used to run the football team and some bingo sessions to fund it!
