    Well done Bill Ackman

One to cheer Swale and cause ramAnag to become apoplectic with rage.

Allegedly made $ 2.6 billion out of the Corona virus by "betting" on the market crashing. Not a bad return for a $ 27 million outlay.

Now my question is this. If he were to take a billion of this surplus and donate it to research into a corona vaccine, does that make him a hero or a villain?

Not going to get over bothered by that, more pissed off that Martin of'spoons isn't paying his workers the stngy git! I'd boycott but never patronise the places generally anyway.

I suppose ona hero or villain judgement I'd say I'd rather the very rich pay their fare share of taxes so that society can function rather than appear wonderful by donating a fraction of their wealth when it suits them and is advantageous to their image!

Anyway I've signed up as an NHS volunteer, no idea what I'll be doing transporting stuff around I think.

    I've done the same Swale.
I've no problem picking up prescriptions etc.

I'm disabled physically for now, but not crippled. Virus isn't going to hurt me.

Lots of volunteers over here as well. I'm not one of them though. Two stents in my left coronary artery. Taking meds for High blood pressure and cholestorol amongst other things. Suffer from sleep apnoea. They wouldn't have me anyway.

Blimey. Swale and Tricky ‘working’ for the NHS! That should empty the wards!! They’ll both be telling the docs ‘you don’t wanna do it like that’ by the end of the day. My social distancing steps have just doubled!

    Well done anyway.

Agree with Swale on the Weatherspoon point but they’re rubbish pubs anyway imo.

Easy one that GP...if he were to donate his winnings to CV vaccine research he’s a hero...if he keeps his winnings he’s an opportunist tw@t. So says my moral compass anyway.

So you entirely miss the point of the question. If he kept most of it, but gave a billion.... Then where does he stand

Sorry Mr. Pedantic...hardly a case of ‘entirely miss the point’...it’s a sliding scale. The more he keeps the more of an ‘opportunistic tw@t’ he is...the more he donates the more philanthropic he is...imo.

I prefer philanthropy to opportunist tw@topy.

Again, stating the obvious. Let me make it even easier. If he kept 1.6 bn and donated 1.0 bn, would you send him a Christmas card?
