It would be abhorrent in my view if some leagues were declared null and void whilst others were told to complete their fixture lists. It should be the same treatment for all imo and not one rule for the PL, another for the EFL and another for non-League etc. Surely the medical risks of playing the games will take precedence and not the financial implications. Who will make the final choice?

I agree with you both, however, no matter what eventually happens, there certainly needs to be some hard thinking about the imbalance of money within the game. I would almost go along with BT's opinion of the EU and relate this to football as we know it.
Could we return to football -----as we used to know it?

When one enjoys an activity that abruptly stops, one loses the habit. I used to play golf any day that ended in the letter "Y" and did so for nigh on thirty years. A nasty bout of proper sciatica meant I could not swing a club for about six months.

Result? I stopped playing and have not played a single round since. I suspect my trips to Turf Moor will suffer the same fate.

Sky will want repaying (or they will not pay) for the matches that won't be played.

Sky (and other broadcasters) must be finding that they are taking a terrific hit at the moment and it could well be the case that their future TV deals are nowhere near as lucrative for the FA.

This will have a dramatic effect on the finances of the Prem clubs. I really hope so anyway. We should be able to ride this out better than most.

Club sponsors and big owners may also find themselves in difficulties. Etihad, Emirates etc are losing £££.

And the betting companies must be suffering (awwww) LoveBet run online casinos etc so they may not be feeling it as much as Ladbrokes etc but I would guess that their profits have dropped significantly.

Taking it all in all, the bigger clubs might find themselves in a bit of bother if the crisis goes on for a lot longer.

Mind you I suppose that that will take us up to Easter and he and you can then pronounce that the scam is now ended and we are back to normal and can all return to work by May Day.
