Thread: football clubs on furlough

  1. #31
Lineker, Neville, Rooney et al don't talk a lot of sense when they are chatting shoite about something they are supposed to know at least a bit of something about. Why the Beeb give Lineker enough air time to talk pure bollox is way beyond me! I met Gary Neville just the once at a bit of a do in Manchester and he came across as a right arrogant prick.
    Jesus Christ I'm bored!

The players will be asked to consider a 30% reduction in wages while the crisis goes on.

Not enough in my opinion. Doctors and nurses are putting their lives on the line every day while these people are doing nowt.
They also get paid an absolute pittance in comparison to footballers.
Which lot would we miss most if they disappeared?
Will they even agree to losing 30% of their wage?
We should remember this when they are finally playing again and expecting us to part with our £30's or subscribe to Sky/BT to fund their ridiculous lifestyles.

It's a complete and utter distraction and irrelevance, they can take any pay cut they like or none at all, it makes no difference to anything. How can 30% be 'not enough' 59, what is enough, 50%, 75%, stop their wages all together ? FFS, we're in the midst of the biggest crisis since WW2 and this is what the media think the nation should be discussing, whether footballers should take a pay cut. I knew they should never have abolished Grammar Schools, this level of debate is the result.

Just wait another day or two sinkov and the blame for this coronavirus malarkey will fall square and fair on the shoulders of Raheem Sterling.

No, I think Raheem is in the clear on this one BT, the blame will surely fall on Heung-Min Son. He comes from fairly close to China doesn't he, that part of the world anyway, and even at Spurs last home game there were hundreds of Koreans in the crowd, come over to watch him, all sat there with their face masks on, and the irony was Son wasn't playing, he had just come back from Korea and had self-isolated.

Anyway if it wasn't him, it's certainly Johnny Foreigner's fault, it always is.

Whatever the final death toll is in America Trump will be claiming credit for keeping it to a "minimum".

Some good news on the football front though:- UEFA have binned the Saturday 3pm blackout for TV games for the remainder of the season....

Enjoy all the live games coming up!
