Picture of the first house you lived in

You can get these off street view or off Rightmove if the house has resold in the last 20 years.

    Here’s my first home.

    52,Knox Way,Harrogate.

Mum and dad bought in around 1960 for around £1700.

It still has the original garage doors on it😳

That driveway was a nightmare for me as a toddler as it slopped and was like crazy paving so I spent more time on my face according to my mum.

I lived here from 61 until 67 when we moved to Stourbridge.

    Let’s see yours?

Hi Mick , lovely place Harrogate I went on 2 four week courses at the BT training school. £60 a night expenses plus mileage allowance. Digs cost us £25 a night. Had a great time and made a bit of money. The best training course though was at IBM in Paris.
Our ist house was Sufferage st off Cape Hill Smethwick a 2 up 2 down, with an outside toilet, we shared with Granddad , i'ts knocked down now so isn't on the map. In 1958 we moved to a new Smethwick council estate which was in West Brom, Dawes Avenue behind Kelvin way.

You're such a posh ******* Mick! Like Soulman, I lived on a council estate in Folkestone for 27 years before buying my first semi detached bungalow in 1977.

Bloody hell Tip......it was a tiny two bedroom semi detached bungalow with a kitchen about 8 by 8.

    I’d hardly call that “posh”.

But you had an inside toilet and bath. We had a tin bath by the coal fire and outside toilet . Our Mom did the washing in a tub using a dolly maid and a ringer, must have hard with us twins. So to us it looks posh, but a nice start in life for you so thumbs up to your mom and dad.

    13 Harlow Terrace, Harrogate. (1950)
It is on rightmove as it was sold 2017.
How do you put a photo on here, now that tinypic has finished ?
Free standing bath filled up via ascot heater and tin jug.
Cellar, wherein my older brother and sisters assured me it was where the bogey-man lived.

Mine was on the Birmingham New Road Coseley until i was 15. It's on Britain from above discover the past. It was taken in 1948, seven years before i was born. If you go on that site i have marked it. Free to register and you can then zoom in and download. I would imagine quite a few of your houses will be on there. The Hawthorns is.
